what is Homelessness?

We could see homeless people around us, especially in Cianjur, West Java Indonesia. The homeless people here still exist every chances on the road or come to our home. Even they were always pretending like a “poor man”. If we see in big cities like Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta have punishment for whomever which be a homeless people or the people who give them money or such a sympathetic. However many reasons why people become homeless, it is not only caused by poverty, unemployment, or economic problem but also it is caused by their bad mind set. They have bad mind set like they think is very easy to get the money through they become homeless people more than they try to get a job hardly. Personally I think that we give the money or other helping like a job for them is not a good solution. It is just make them still enjoy being homeless people. Therefore we don’t give any money or any care for them because they are just faker (pretending like poor man though they are have enough money to live).

So what is Homelessness? Let us discuss,

Homelessness is a person who has no fixed abode and by a variety of reasons had to stay down under bridges, public parks, roadsides, riverbanks, railway station, or other public facilities to sleep and running today life.  As the barrier region and private property, the homeless often use a sheet of cardboard, sheet zinc or aluminum, plastic sheets, blankets, stroller supermarket, or tents according to geographical situation and the country where the homeless be. meet the needs of everyday life often life of the mercy of others or work as scavengers.

Bum is a term with negative connotations directed to people who experience homelessness situation .

The specific characteristics of the homeless are as follows :

• The homeless do not have a job.

• Physical condition of the Homelessness is not healthy.

• The homeless usually looking for goods or food  wherever they need.

• The homeless free life does not depend on another person or family .

Homelessness is about more than rooflessness. A home is not just a physical space, it also has a legal and social dimension. A home provides roots, identity, a sense of belonging and a place of emotional wellbeing. Homelessness is about the loss of all of these. It is an isolating and destructive experience and homeless people are some of the most vulnerable and socially excluded in our society.

People become and stay homeless for a whole range of complex and overlapping reasons and solving homelessness is about much more than putting a roof over people's heads. Many homeless people face a number of issues in addition to, but often compounded by, their homelessness. The isolation and destructive nature of homelessness means that homeless people find it difficult to access the help they need. Homeless could be caused by:

1). Poverty,

 2). Unemployment

3) Lack of affordable housing,

4) Poor physical or mental health,

5) Drug and alcohol abuse,

6) Gambling,

7) Family and relationship breakdown,

8) Domestic violence,

9) Physical or sexual abused.

All these factors can cause a person to become homeless. They can also be one of the reasons why a person remains homeless for example, drug and alcohol abuse can be both a cause and a result of domestic, violence, mental illness or addictions, family instability.
